Teeth Whitening
at Langley DentalA smile makeover with Teeth Whitening
Over time teeth naturally become stained and discoloured. This happens for a variety of reasons. Smoking, eating spicy foods and drinking a lot of tea, coffee or red wine are the most common causes why teeth become darker.
Professional teeth whitening at Langley will make your teeth appear brighter and whiter. We only recommend having your teeth whitened by a professional dentist who can prescribe the correct amount of whitening gels and check on the health of your teeth before you start the treatment. Kits that you buy over the counter or online can be risky to health of your teeth.
Teeth whitening in Langley
At Langley Dental we offer two ways to whiten your teeth:
Philips Zoom! Teeth whitening at the practice
A special gel is applied to your teeth by your dentist which immediately starts to remove stains by breaking down the dentin deposits and compounds that cause them. A lamp is then placed over your teeth which breaks down the gel on to your teeth. The process usually takes about an hour.
Teeth whitening at home
We make you bespoke whitening trays which you wear for a certain amount of time at home either during the day or overnight. We offer two brands for this treatment – Boutique whitening and Pola whitening.
Philips Zoom! Teeth whitening
Philips Zoom! teeth whitening is carried out at the dental surgery in Langley. This form of teeth whitening is fast and dramatic with teeth proven to whiten up to 7 shades in just 60 minutes.
Zoom! teeth whitening is very effective for those patients who have strong discolouration or if you have sensitive teeth. More patients report less or no sensitivity with this form of teeth whitening treatment. It is completely overseen by a professional dentist, so you are guaranteed to be in safe hands and have a service that is bespoke to you and your teeth.
Boutique teeth whitening
In the convenience of your own home, you wear your teeth whitening trays on top of your teeth and these are filled with the prescribed amount of whitening gel. Boutique by Day is a good option for you if you want fast results. Your trays only need to be worn for 1 to 2 hours as it has a higher amount of whitening gel.
Boutique by Night contains carbamide and is a far gentler process. With this option, you wear your trays over-night for a more gradual approach. This treatment is better suited to you if you have sensitive teeth or do not want to wear the trays during the day.
Poladay and Polanight teeth whitening
Pola also involves you wearing custom-made teeth whitening trays which are filled with a prescribed amount of gel. Poladay uses hydrogen peroxide and acts fast, meaning you can wear your trays for just 30 minutes in a day. Polanight uses carbamide peroxide which is a slower acting chemical and whitens your teeth overnight.
Both Pola teeth whitening treatments contain fluoride to protect against sensitivity and both Pola options allow you to choose the shade of white that you would like for your treatment.
